In February 17, 2012 we drove about 120km from Sidney to the west and reached to a beautiful National park called Blue Mountains. Regional sangha leader, Masako Ogawa kindly invited and let me stay in her house sorrounded by mother-nature. We had been planning to organize half a day retreat in the prayer room of Masako's house with a small group of people living in her neighborhood.
2012年2月17日、ｼﾄﾞﾆｰから西に120ｷﾛﾄﾞﾗｲﾌﾞし、美しいﾌﾞﾙｰﾏｳﾝﾃﾝｽﾞ国立公園にたどり着きました。この地区のｻﾝｶﾞのﾘｰﾀﾞｰの小川雅子さんにお招きいただき、自然に囲まれた素晴らしいお家に一晩泊めていただきました。前々から小川さんのお宅の広い礼拝室を使って、近隣の方々のためのﾐﾆ･ﾘﾄﾘｰﾄを計画していたのです。


We are blessed with a excellent weather next day. Nine people came to attend the mini retreat and explore their mind to find their true love to their parents. Many participants shed tears when they discovered how much they were loved by their parents and how little they have understood about the difficulties and sufferings of their parents when they were raising kids.
翌日は素晴らしいお天気に恵まれました。9名の皆さんがこのﾐﾆ･ﾘﾄﾘｰﾄに参加されて、心を深く見つめ、自らの心の中に、両親への真実の愛が宿っていることを発見されました。研修の間、多くの方々が、自分が両親からいかに愛されていたかを知るとともに、両親が子供たちを育てるために潜り抜けた苦難・困難について自分がほとんど理解していなかったことに気づき、涙を流されていました。

When the retreat was over, one of the local member, James made up his mind to devote himself to the Three Treasures. He said, "For a long time I had a difficulty with my dad, who was alcoholic and abused badly my mom. I hated him so much that I could hardly forgive him. But during my contemplation on him, for the first time in my life I understood his difficult situation and the pains he had to recieve. I thank God he is still alive. Now I will visit my dad living alone in a distant city to convey my care and affection to him."
ﾘﾄﾘｰﾄ終了後、ﾛｰｶﾙ・ﾒﾝﾊﾞｰの一人であるJamesさんが三帰誓願を決意されました。式の後のｽﾋﾟｰﾁで彼は「これまでずっと、父との関係に悩んできました。ｱﾙｺｰﾙ依存症だった父は母をひどくいじめていたからです。私は父を憎み続け、到底、許すことなどできませんでした。しかし、今回の反省で、生まれて初めて、父が困難な情況の中でどれほどつらい体験をしていたかが理解できるようになったのです。幸いなことに父はまだ存命です。これから遠く離れて独り暮らしをしている父を訪ね、いたわりと愛の気持ちを伝えたいと思います。」と語られていました。

Look at the shining faces of the participants and bless their strong resolutions to live a life of giving for the rest of their lives. Congratulations, James! Congratulation to all the members of Sidney sangha! We are all children of God. In whatever corner of earth we live we are the one. Let's strive to walk together.

From November 22nd to December 5th I had a missionary trip to Oceania. During this trip I had 3 seminars and 1 workshop stopping by Auckland and Kaikuara, New Zealand and Melbourne and Sidney, Australia. All together some 150 people participated to these seminars and 40 new members and one devotee were created. Although it was merely a small step I wam glad to have opportunities to introduce Happy Science teachings to people in those countries. It was nice to know that there are certainly many who have affinity to the Truth that we were to share with. 11月22日から12月5日までの2週間、オセアニア伝道ツアーに出かけました。この間、ﾆｭｰｼﾞｰﾗﾝﾄﾞのｵｰｸﾗﾝﾄﾞとｶｲｺｰﾗ、およびｵｰｽﾄﾗﾘｱのﾒﾙﾎﾞﾙﾝとｼﾄﾞﾆｰで計3回のｾﾐﾅｰとﾜｰｸｼｮｯﾌﾟを開催し、総計150名の参加者と40名の新入会者、1名の三帰誓願者が誕生しました。今回のツアーは小さな一歩ではありましたが、ｵｾｱﾆｱ地域の皆さんに幸福の科学の教えを伝える機会を得、この真理に親和性のある方々がたくさんおられることを確認できたことは大きな喜びでした。


The photo posted above is the seminar shot taken in the Memorial Center in Kaukoura where the people in this small town got together to hear my presentation on Happy Science. This event was organized by our New Zealand member, Lyn Bentley who joined Happy Science more than 20 years ago and hosted by Steve Bellingham, the Branch minister of New Zealand. As you can see, almost all audience were Caucasians. After the session I confessed to one of the new members who had just joined us, "To be honest with you I got a little scared to make a speech to white audience". She responded quickly, "Well, likewise we got scared with you too. But I felt comfortable with your speech since it reminded me the stories that Lyn shared with us before. And I love them." The photos below were taken with members in New Zealand. 上の写真は私のｾﾐﾅｰを聞きに町の公民館に集まってくださったｶｲｺｰﾗの住民の皆さんです。この町でのｾﾐﾅｰは20年以上も前に幸福の科学会員となったﾆｭｰｼﾞｰﾗﾝﾄﾞ人信者のﾘﾝ･ﾍﾞﾝﾄﾘｰさんが準備してくれました。そして司会を務めてくれたのは支部長のｽﾃｨｰﾌﾞ･ﾍﾞﾘﾝｶﾞﾑさんです。ご覧のとおり、聴衆はほぼ全員、白人の皆さんです。ｾﾐﾅｰ終了後にその日、入会してくれた一人の女性に「正直言って、白人の皆さんの前でお話しするのはちょっと、怖かったですよ」と告白したところ、彼女曰く、「それは私たちの側だって同じよ。でもあなたのお話、よかったわ。Lynが以前、私たちに話してくれたことを思い出したの。とても気に入ったわ」ですって！下の写真に映っているのはﾆｭｰｼﾞｰﾗﾝﾄﾞ会員の皆さんです。

Kaikoura is a small resort town along the East coast of South island of New Zealand. I felt like I was in the paradise as the scenery around the town was so beautiful. ｶｲｺｰﾗはﾆｭｰｼﾞﾗﾝﾄﾞの南島の東海岸沿いのﾘｿｰﾄ･ﾀｳﾝです。周囲の風景が非常に美しくて、まるで天国にいるような気持ちになりました。


New Zealand is a country full of nature. I, as an animal lover, was very happy to see cows, horses, sheep and seals all around. ﾆﾕｰｼﾞｰﾗﾝﾄﾞには自然があふれています。動物大好きの私は牛君、馬君、羊さん、アシカさんたちが沢山見られて大変ハッピーでした。


On the day when we left the town we visited Lyn's house to have a prayer together for the success of her missionary activity in her local community. I am sure that she will be very successful as her faith to Lord El Cantare is so deep and strong. See you soon Lyn and Nokome, her beloved husband. The Light of El Cantare is spreading slowly but steadfastly in New Zealand! ｶｲｺｰﾗを発つ朝、ﾘﾝさんのお宅を訪ねて、一緒に彼女の地域伝道の成功を祈りました。彼女の主への深く強い信仰心があれば、必ず成功するでしょう。ﾘﾝさん、そしてご主人のﾉｺﾒさん、またお目にかかりましょう。ｴﾙｶﾝﾀｰﾚの光はゆっくりとしかし着実にﾆｭｰｼﾞｰﾗﾝﾄﾞに広がりつつあります。

The small theater room of Ulaanbaatar National Concert Hall was packed with 250 strong audience, some of who came all the way from country side in Mongolia taking five hours of train-ride after watching TV talk show featuring Happy Science first open-public seminar in November 6, 2011. The audience was ranged from 5 years-old kids senior citizens of 80s, but they all expected some very new idea which could revolutionize their view of life, success and Happiness. 2011年11月6日、ウランバートル国立コンサートホール小劇場は250名強の観客で満席となりました。中には前日の朝、テレビで放映された幸福の科学紹介番組をみて、5時間も汽車に乗って地方都市から参加してくださった方もおられました。参加者年齢は5歳の子供から80歳のお年寄りまで様々でしたが、みな、自分の人生観、成功観、幸福観を一変させてくれる新しい何かに期待を膨らませて集まってこられたのです。

Fortunately we were given an opportunity to be on a TV talk show in National broadcasting station TV9 on Saturday morning. Ms. Ichiko Sopp, lay leader of Mongolia and myself enjoyed a good conversation with the host of the show, Mr. Nyamka Namsrai introducing Master Ryuho Okawa and his book, "The Laws of the Sun" as well as the main teachings of Happy science to the listeners of the show for 15 min. 幸運なことに、私たちはセミナー前日にモンゴルのテレビ局TV9の朝のトークショーに出演することができました。在家リーダーのイチコさんと一緒にテレビに出て、ホストのニャムカさんの司会で大川隆法総裁先生と書籍『太陽の法』、それに幸福の科学の教えについて15分間紹介することができました。

The title of the seminar was "Secret Keys for Success and Happiness in Life," in which I talked about the spiritual view of life, the importance of having dreams in life and "I'm Fine Spirit." Although it was a little hard to guess the reaction of Mongolian audience because they seldom express their emotions on face, they stayed with me so patiently all through 2 hours long sessions. 『幸福な人生と成功の鍵』と題したセミナーでは、「霊的人生観」、「夢を持つことの大切さ」そして、「アイム・ファイン・スピリット」についてお話ししました。モンゴル人はあまり感情を表情で表さないので、聴衆の反応はよくわかりませんでしたが、逐次通訳を介して2時間以上に及んだセミナーを皆さん、辛抱強く聞いてくださいました。


Then what would you expect for the outcome of the seminar? Well, we are very proud to inform you that we could create 90 new Mongolian members including 5 devotees in that session. People rushed to the registration corner and made a long cue to receive their prayer books. 皆さん、それでセミナーの結果はどうだったと思います？謹んで、ご報告いたします。この日、5名の三帰誓願者を含み、90名のモンゴル人新入会員が誕生しました。セミナーが終わると沢山の方々が入会受付コーナーの押し寄せ、長い列を作って、入会版『正心法語』を受け取られました。

Let me introduce you some comments from the audience written in the survey sheets they fed back to us. それでは、セミナーアンケートに記入されていた感想文のいくつかをご紹介しましょう。

Then, to open a place for elderly in Mongolia to nurse them as there is hardly any place for elderlies to gather here. I have a faith that happiness will come to me. Some 200 people who dressed up nicely with their national costumes attended to celebrate this historical inauguration of Happy Science Malaysia Branch temple in September 4, 2011. Two flags were flown from the roof-top of the brand-new building; one is the Malaysian national flag and the other is that of Happy Science. Everybody's face was filled with joy and Happiness as they were all proud of the grand opening of this first temple of Happy Science ever built in South East Asia.2011年9月4日、民族衣装で着飾った200名有余の人々がマレーシア支部精舎落慶の歴史的瞬間を祝う式典には列席されました。どの人の顔もみんな、喜びと幸福感で輝いています。誰もが東南アジア初の幸福の科学施設の開設に大きな誇りを感じているからです。

The ceremony was initiated solemnly by our branch minister, Ms. Hong Lee Yeap who dedicated the words of gratitude to the Lord El Cantare for His limitless love and marcy to all the people in Malaysia.
式典はﾎﾝ･ﾘｰ･ﾔｯﾌﾟ支部長の厳かな奏上で始まり、ﾏﾚｰｼｱ国民に対する主ｴﾙ･ｶﾝﾀｰﾚの限りなき愛とご慈悲に対する感謝の祈りがささげられました。

People were impressed by the documentary video which introduced the history of Malaysia sangha activities since the year 2000. Everyone was convinced that the completion of Malaysia branch temple was truly the result of long-lasting efforts and enthusiasm of core members to build a Utopia society in their country. 出席された人々は、ﾏﾚｰｼｱ･ｻﾝｶﾞの歴史を綴ったﾋﾞﾃﾞｵ上映に深い感銘を受け、本支部精舎の完成がまさに、中核信者の皆さんのﾕｰﾄﾋﾟｱ建設への、長年の努力と情熱の賜であることを確信されていました。

Three speakers were then invited to deliver the words of celebration, namely Mr. Kazuhiro Ichikawa, the Executive Officer of Happy Science International Headquarter, Mr. Hiroshi Yaita, the Director of Asian Regional Headquarter, and Ms. Hong Ling Yeap, the representative of Happy Science Malaysia Lay Sangha.この後、市川和博国際局長、矢板浩アジア本部長、そしてﾏﾚｰｼｱ在家ｻﾝｶﾞの代表としてﾎﾝ･ﾘﾝ･ﾔｯﾌﾟさんが祝辞を述べられました。

Bouquet flowers were given to the building constructor and the site supervisor to show appreciation to them. The ceremony was concluded by singing a holy song, "Beautiful Land of Light" in Japanese together with all the participants.建設業者と現場監督に感謝の花束が贈呈されたのち、参加者全員で「うるわしき光の国」を合唱して式典を終了しました。
　　　　
After the open-public seminars successively conducted by myself, some 80 people joined to Happy Science as new members and celebrate this beautiful grand opening day together with the other members. 式典後、引き続き開催された伝道セミナー終了後、新たに80数名の方々が幸福の科学に入会され、信者の皆さまと共にこの素晴らしい落慶の日を祝って下さいました。

　　　　　　
The newly opened Malaysia branch temple has already become a land-mark of the neighborhood and many people started to drop in the temple to find out, "What is Happy Science" and joined as new members. As it attracted so many people, somebody said, "In the night time the temple building looks like a sutra book of "The Dharma of the Right Mind," while in the day time it looks like a prayer book of Happy Science. Well, do you agree with him? 精舎落慶以来、ﾏﾚｰｼｱ支部精舎はすでに地域のランドマークとなり、多くの人々が精舎に立ち寄って、「幸福の科学って何？」と尋ね、入会されています。建物が多くの人を引き付けるので、誰かが言っていました。「支部精舎は夜見ると、『仏説・正真法語』、昼間見ると『祈願文』みたい！」さあ、皆さんにはどうみえますか？
　　　　　　

It was back in 1999 when I met a guy named Brian Rycroft from South Africa. He attended to our International Meditation Retreat held in a Happy Science Monastery in Japan named "Nikko Shoja," which was headed by myself. I did not imagine at that time that he will become the first non-Japanese staff in Africa, but was very much impressed with his honest and warm personality together with a good sense of humor. 私が南アフリカ出身のﾌﾞﾗｲｱﾝ･ﾗｲｸﾛﾌﾄという青年に初めてであったのは1999年のことでした。彼は当時私が館長を務めていた幸福の科学の精舎・日光精舎で開催された海外会員研修に出席していたのです。その時は彼がやがてｱﾌﾘｶ初の外国人職員になるとは想像しなかったのですが、彼の正直で温かい人柄に感心すると共に、非常にユーモアのセンスのある人だと思いました。

I am pleased to introduce to all of you our beautiful Happy Science branch temple in Durban, South Africa, that is currently ministered by Brian. このブログ画面でﾌﾞﾗｲｱﾝが支部長を務める幸福の科学南アフリカ支部をご紹介できことを大変うれしく思います。

I received very warm welcome from the fellow lay members in South Africa branch in the evening session held at South African Branch in August 18. 8月18日に支部で行われた夜の集いで南ア支部会員の皆さまから大変温かい祝福を受けました。

In August 20 we had the first open-public seminar in Suncoast Convention Center in Durban, which is close to the stadium built for the Succor World Cup games.The title of my seminar then was "Love and Prosperity."南ア支部初の伝道セミナーは8月20日(土）の午後、昨年ﾜｰﾙﾄﾞｶｯﾌﾟ競技のために建設されたｻｯｶｰｽﾀｼﾞｱﾑにほど近い、ｻﾝｺｰｽﾄ国際会議場で開催されました。ｾﾐﾅｰの演題は「愛と繁栄」です。

Lay volunteers helped us setting up the venue and we could start the seminar at 2:15pm with 104 participants. Brian introduced me as a guest speaker from Japan who is a close friend of him. The audience was so friendly that I could talk very smoothly despite my first session in South Africa. ﾎﾞﾗﾝﾃｨｱの皆様の協力で会場を設営し、104名の参加者で2時15分からｾﾐﾅｰをスタートしました。ﾌﾞﾗｲｱﾝは私のことを日本からやってきた親友として紹介してくれました。南アで初めての伝道ｾﾐﾅｰだったにも関わらず、聴衆が非常にﾌﾚﾝﾄﾞﾘｰだったのでｽﾑｰｽﾞにお話しすることが出来ました。

At the very end of my speech I asked to the audience, "I wish to introduce all of you as new members of Happy Science in Durban. Please wave to the friends all over the world!" Then everybody showed big smile to my camera. How wonderful those people are! I love them all. On that day we could create 60 new Dharma friends. 講演の最後に私が演壇から「皆さんを新しい幸福の科学会員として紹介したいと思います。世界中の友人たちに手を振ってあげて下さい！」とお願いすると、全員、カメラに向かって笑顔で手を振ってくれました。なんて、人懐っこい人たちなんでしょう。ダーバンの人がとても好きになりました。この日、60名の新入会員が誕生しました。

Hooray for South African sangha!　They have just made a big stride to the future development to spread the Light of Eｌ　Cantare　all over Africa. 南ｱﾌﾘｶサンガに万歳！南アフリカ支部は全アフリカに主エル・カンターレの御光を広げる大きな第一歩を踏み出したのです。
